Rob founded Newport Construction on the principle that the best results of any endeavor are only completely achieved when working as a team. The commitment to this approach is rooted in Rob’s background.
After graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy Rob attended pilot training and first moved to the Charleston area to fly the C-17 Globemaster III. After thousands of hours flying overseas in support of combat, humanitarian and presidential operations, as well as an interim pilot instructor tour in Texas, Rob knew it was time to pursue a new course in order to truly call Charleston home.
For nearly a decade he has applied the skillset honed in the Air Force to the construction industry. Teamwork, integrity, organization, efficiency and scheduling became the tenets that he worked by to manage successful projects and develop lasting client relationships which led to his previous position as Vice President of Construction Operations for a leading regional commercial construction firm.
Rob has managed projects across the construction spectrum to include hospitality, retail, office, medical, commercial, recreational and historical each with their own nuances and challenges but all with the common focus of excellence, budget and schedule.
